MARQUISE is a glass column light by SHUCHUANG. A gilded lattice is built as a cage around an existing structural column, with flat metal ribbons crossing at a constant pitch and glass forms hung inside on their own lines, so the column is dressed without the structure being touched. Above head height the ribbons release from the mesh and continue as free arcs that spread and cross overhead, so a clad column finishes as a canopy. Made to order for piano lounges, lobbies and atriums with exposed columns. Column height, lattice pitch, glass count and canopy spread are engineered to your structure. A glass column light, grown around the structure
Gilded lattice columns are built as a cage around an existing structural column. Flat metal ribbons cross at a constant pitch to form the diamond mesh, and glass forms are hung inside the cage on their own lines, so the glass is protected and the column is dressed without the structure being touched.
Above head height the lattice stops behaving as a cage. The ribbons release from the mesh and continue upward as free arcs that spread and cross overhead, so what starts as a clad column finishes as a canopy — the same material doing structural and decorative work at two different scales.
