RAINFALL is a glass droplet chandelier by SHUCHUANG. Each droplet is pressed individually and takes a botanical impression on one face while the glass is still soft, so the veining sits inside the surface rather than on it and no two pieces are alike. The field hangs from a concealed track with every line set to its own length, and clear and amber droplets are mixed through the whole depth rather than banded, so warm and cool points sit against each other at every level. RAINFALL suspends hundreds of pressed glass droplets on fine lines at unequal heights, clear and amber mixed through. Each droplet carries a botanical impression pressed into its face while the glass was still soft.

Pressed glass droplets make up the entire field. Each is formed individually and takes a botanical impression on one face while still soft, so the veining sits inside the surface rather than on it and no two pieces come out of the process alike.
The field is hung from a concealed track with every line set to its own length. Clear and amber droplets are mixed through the whole depth rather than banded, so warm and cool points sit against each other at every level and the mass never flattens into a single tone.
