PAVILION is a custom gold chandelier by SHUCHUANG. Hundreds of slim gilded blades hang in one wide ellipse, each cut to its own height so the lower edge resolves into a slow wave. Clear blades let light pass through, and the reflections travel sideways until the ring reads as lit from within. Made to order for entrance halls, lobbies and reception corridors. PAVILION hangs hundreds of slim gilded blades in one wide ellipse, each blade cut to its own height so the lower edge resolves into a slow wave. Light travels sideways from blade to blade, and the ring reads as lit from within.

A custom gold chandelier, cut from vertical blades
PAVILION hangs hundreds of slim gilded blades in a single wide ellipse, set into a faceted ceiling recess. Nothing here is cast or moulded — the form exists only in the ordering, each blade a little higher or lower than the one beside it.
A proportion of the blades are left clear, so light passes through instead of stopping at the surface. Concealed sources above the ring wash down the inner face, and the reflections travel sideways until the whole ellipse reads as lit from within.
