No two hang on the same axis, so a drum seen edge-on as a bright line from one position becomes a full circle from another and a group never presents the same arrangement twice. Deep rings of clear crystal give the piece its form. Each drum is a metal band packed with vertical crystal rods and left open top and bottom, so it holds a hard circular edge while staying transparent through the middle.
Tilt is what turns a set of identical drums into a composition. No two hang on the same axis, so a drum seen edge-on as a bright line from one position becomes a full circle from another, and a group of them never presents the same arrangement twice as people move across the floor beneath.
