THALASSA is a crystal wave ceiling light by SHUCHUANG. Strips of fine crystal mesh are hung in overlapping rows from a concealed track, each rippled along its length and cut with a torn edge, so the lower profile of the band never resolves into a straight line. The rows sit at different heights and angles, thick and shadowed at the centre and opening out toward the ends, so the eye follows the band the way it follows a breaking wave. Made to order for main lobbies, entrance halls and window walls. Overall length, band depth, layer count and strip profile are engineered to your ceiling. Made to order in our own workshop in Guzhen, Zhongshan, China. Worldwide shipping.

Project
THALASSA runs one continuous band of rippled crystal mesh the full width of a lobby, layered row over row so the band thickens at the centre and thins to nothing at each end. Every strip is cut with a torn edge, and none of them line up.
THALASSA is made to order in our own workshop. Overall length, band depth, layer count and strip profile are all built to your lobby, then shipped and delivered worldwide.
A single ruffled band carries the whole piece. Strips of fine crystal mesh are hung in overlapping rows from a concealed track, each strip rippled along its length and cut with a torn edge, so the lower profile of the band never resolves into a straight line.
Depth is what makes it read as water rather than as trim. The rows sit at different heights and different angles, so the band is thick and shadowed at the centre and opens out toward the ends, and the eye follows it across the room the way it follows a breaking wave.
Made to order for main lobbies, entrance halls and window walls. Overall length, band depth, layer count and strip profile are engineered to your ceiling, and the track is built in sections so the run can turn a corner or follow a curve.
