ACER is a glass leaf installation by SHUCHUANG. Small white glass elements are hung individually on lines fine enough to disappear against a pale ceiling, each formed with a folded, seed-like profile that presents a different silhouette depending on how it rests. Density is highest at the top and falls away toward the floor, with elements set at every angle rather than aligned, so the group reads as motion arrested rather than as a fixture. Small white glass elements are hung individually on lines fine enough to disappear against a pale ceiling. Each is formed with a folded, seed-like profile that presents a different silhouette depending on how it has come to rest on its line.
The distribution is the design. Density is highest at the top and falls away toward the floor, and the elements are set at every possible angle rather than aligned, so the group is read as motion arrested rather than as a fixture — the eye supplies the fall that the piece does not actually perform.
