Waldorf Astoria Chengdu
It opened in 2017 as the third Waldorf Astoria brand in China, situated in the main tower of the 52-story Yintai Center in the heart of Chengdu High-tech Zone's Financial City. The interior design, overseen by Jon Kastl, who spearheaded the renovation of the Waldorf Astoria in New York, pays tribute to the classics in an Art Deco style, cleverly incorporating local elements such as the "Leaf of Life" crystal chandelier and intangible cultural heritage lacquer art.

The sculpture is made out of a special material called “Twill” - our patented “crystal fabric,” which is a sheet composed of thousands of crystal beads woven into a fabric ideal for tailor-made chandeliers. “Each bead is hand-cut and polished for added luster and high light refraction,” says designer Táňa Dvořáková.
