AUGUSTUS is a crystal dragon chandelier by SHUCHUANG. A welded steel armature carries the full run from raised head to turning tail, clad in overlapping crystal scales each set on its own mount so the surface follows a compound curve. Colour is introduced inside the body, so the scales are lit from behind and the hue can be driven across the length in a slow programme, while gilded horns, whiskers and fins hold the drawing of the figure at every colour. Made to order for grand halls, atriums and double-height lobbies. Length, body diameter, scale pattern, colour programme and metal finish are engineered to your space. Made to order in our own workshop in Guzhen, Zhongshan, China. Worldwide shipping.

Project
AUGUSTUS runs the full length of a grand hall, a body of crystal scales carried on a gilded metal frame, head raised at one end and tail turning away at the other. Colour moves through the body from within, so the whole form reads differently minute to minute.
AUGUSTUS is made to order in our own workshop. Overall length, body diameter, scale pattern, colour programme and metal finish are all built to your hall, then shipped and delivered worldwide.
AUGUSTUS is built on a welded steel armature that carries the whole run, section by section, from the raised head to the turning tail. Over it, the body is clad in overlapping crystal scales, each one set on its own mount so the surface can follow a compound curve without breaking.
Colour is introduced inside the body rather than aimed at it from the room, so the scales are lit from behind and the hue can be driven across the length in a slow programme. The horns, whiskers and fins are worked in gilded metal and stay warm while the body shifts, which keeps the drawing of the figure readable at every colour.
Made to order for grand halls, atriums and double-height lobbies. Overall length, body diameter, scale pattern, colour programme and metal finish are engineered to your space, and the armature is divided into sections that can be lifted and joined on site.
