It opened in 1993 and serves as the flagship hotel of the Shangri-La brand in the Philippines. Located in the heart of Makati Central Business District, Manila's most bustling area, it is adjacent to upscale business districts such as Ayala Avenue and Greenbelt Mall, boasting a prime geographical location.
This lighting sculpture, located in the ballroom, used thousands of hanging crystals dripping from above as lighting, said to be reminiscent of intertwined crystal necklaces. The overall shape is inspired by the shape of the cloud used in Asian drawings.
